Are you my Mum?

One calm afternoon I was quietly doing some computer work when I heard an unusual sound outside, like a big bath tub was draining and the final drops of water were being sucked down the pipes.

 

I went out on to the aft deck to investigate and noticed a baby seal attempting to suckle the side of a inflatable grey boat tied up to my neighbour's float home.

 

I took a couple pictures, then watched as it desperately struggled to expel milk from the boat's smooth sidewall. A persistent but practical seal, he eventually gave up, ducked beneath the boat and quietly swam away.
